Redshift REC - Comments are Truncated at 65536 Characters

Due to an ODBC restriction, all comments are limited to 65536 characters. In addition to this, retrieval of large number of characters in comments or SQL text, requires one to change the following under ODBC settings > Data Type Options:

• Increase the value of Max Varchar.
• Clear the Use Unicode option.

  To retrieve the maximum length of the object names, select the Use Unicode option. At a time, you can choose to either retrieve large number of characters in comments/SQL text or object names.
